Cloth Mask: Symbol of Societal Harm

For two years, the experts’ dictums around masks have been contradictory, confusing and incorrect. Especially cloth masks.

First, we must begin with the fact that at the beginning of the pandemic, US surgeon general Jerome Adams specifically said not to wear masks. Any kind of mask. Even an N95 mask, which he said needs to be fitted properly and should only be used in a medical setting. Anthony Fauci also said mask-wearing by the general public was not necessary on 60 Minutes.

Then, the messaging changed and we were told to do the opposite. Cloth masks were celebrated and encouraged. Masks were deemed an essential tool to combat Covid. Masks became emblematic of the pandemic, always there to remind us (along with the news) that it was happening. This tool–a mask–was so important in the fight against Covid, that people were arrested for not using it.

The CDC gave some guidance on fabric type and fit on its website, meanwhile studies supporting cloth masks were flimsy at best. Perhaps knowing this, the CDC eventually recommended wearing two masks to improve the efficacy and fit of cloth masks about a YEAR AND A HALF into the pandemic.

Think about that. It took the best minds in science well over a year to figure out that cloth masks are so ineffective you should wear TWO of them.

But why didn’t they KNOW that already? There were several studies, dated PRIOR to the pandemic, asserting that cloth masks aren’t effective and shouldn’t be used. Heck, a 2015 study in the NIH’s National Library of Medicine stated 97% of respiratory viral particles penetrated the cloth masks and weren’t recommended for health care workers!

But the massive mixed messaging around cloth masks REALLY took off when epidemiologist and advisor to the Biden Administration, Michael Osterholm, went on CCN in August 2021 and dropped this bombshell:

In the video Osterholm says: “Many of the cloth face coverings people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out; either your breathing out or your breathing in. And in fact, if you’re in the Upper Midwest right now, those who are wearing their face cloth covering can tell you, they can smell all the smoke that we’re still getting. We need to talk about better masking.”

Excuse me? Sixteen months into the pandemic and this leader in Science who advises the president on all things Covid is JUST NOW discovering (even with the benefit of relevant studies available to him in government-owned libraries) that cloth masks are “not very effective”?

So, people wore cloth masks for over a year in good faith, believing they were effective protection against a deadly virus, and this guy comes along and blows that out of the water. But, no biggie! Nobody’s ticked off with the government and media approved experts about this fairly large error regarding a critical life-saving tool.

Even after her colleague on CNN said so, it took Dr. Leana Wen another few months to clearly state that cloth masks do nothing. Her actual words during a CNN interview in late December 2021 were, “Cloth masks are little more than facial decoration. There’s no place for them in light of Omicron. So wear a quality mask, at least a 3-ply surgical mask.”

Faced with this media hitjob on cloth masks, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky finally conceded on January 14, 2022 that that cloth masks aren’t that effective but “the best mask you can wear is the one you will wear.” Almost two years into this pandemic and now the recommendation is that it doesn’t matter what you wear, as long as you have something on your face.

You don’t saw a log with a butter knife. The type and quality of a tool needed for a job MATTERS. Especially when it comes to a tool so important in “the fight against Covid” that you can get arrested, or be publicly accused of killing people, for not using it. But the truth is, there STILL is not a consensus about mask usage–type, fit, fabric or even if they are necessary in the first place–and there never has been.

For every parent who insists all children be masked in school to protect others because there is no real risk to the child, there is another who cites an article stating that masking is detrimental to children. Meanwhile, many of the masks worn by children are…..cloth. Cloth masks that, according to one media-anointed expert, are mere “facial decoration.” Do we need to wonder why some people are losing patience with masks and would like them to be optional? And also why others are digging in their heels and want those masks to stay on?

At first, our trusted government and media experts said that they didn’t want people to wear masks. Then they said they DID want people to wear them, absent of any major study to justify the switch. Pro-mask studies and news articles flooded the internet AFTER they made the recommendation. This distinction is important. Why? Because the government suddenly told us to do something that they specifically told us NOT to do, BEFORE there was any “science” to justify their total 360.

The president says he wants to send N95 masks to Americans. But the CDC still presents cloth masks as a viable option and the prior US Surgeon General said N95s aren’t appropriate for the public either.

Are you seeing an insane-making pattern of contradictions here, or is it just me?

Contradictions like this are a wonderful way to sow fear, confusion and anger amongst the public. How about we all come off this battlefield and take a look at who is really causing societal harm in this country?

NYS Teachers Pension Fund Tied to Vaccine Manufacturers

Rachel Maniscalco is a NYC teacher who was fired last year for refusing to take a vaccine that had been on the market for about seven months in order to keep her job.

I first saw her at the August 25, 2021 Teachers for Choice Rally in NYC. There was actually a smidge of mainstream news coverage on this Rally. Here is a clip from AP News:

In this clip, Rachel announces her exit from her union, the United Federation of Teachers (UFT). They support mandatory vaccination for teachers and students. Then, she sums up what’s going on accurately:

“So your question was, am I prepared to lose it all? And the answer is YES. Because I believe this is not just about a vaccine. I do not believe this is just about our health. This is about medical freedom. This is about totalitarianism. We are headed into a very dangerous area. And if we comply with this, we are setting a terrible precedent for our future.”

In addition to being a means for government officials to exert greater control over the public via vaccine passports (aka The Key to NYC) and vaccine mandates, these vaccines are also about money. Lots and lots of money.

In 2019, NYS got rid of the the religious exemption provision for students regarding vaccination. A NYS parent cannot opt out of vaccinating their child and still send their child to public school.

The article clearly infers that NYS Assemblyman Jeffry Dinowitz and NYS Senators Brad Hoylman and David Carlucci were lobbied by NYS United Teachers Union and the UFT. In a report from Crain’s NY Business (April 11, 2019), the UFT and its NYS chapter spent a combined $2,602,761 on lobbying (United Teachers NYS alone spent $1,299,082).

So why would the UFT lobby NYS politicians so hard to get rid of vaccine exemptions? Well, because that’s good for vaccine manufacturers. And what’s good for vaccine manufacturers is what’s good for the the UFT. According to the 2019 NYS Teachers Retirement System Domestic Equity Holdings report, the NYS Teacher’s Retirement Fund is “heavily invested in three of the top five vaccine manufacturers.”

And who are those manufacturers? In addition to GlaxoSmithKline with a paltry 57,300 shares (value: $2,394, 567), the Retirement Fund is also has well over 9 million shares in Pfizer (value: $390,770,377) and well over 4 million shares in Merck (value: $350,663, 184).

Please, can we stop with the notion that this vaccine push is about our health? The vaccine doesn’t stop the spread of the virus. The government promised the vaccines would do this and they didn’t! Why aren’t more people upset that this product didn’t deliver on this promise? Oh I know…because now the spin is that the vaccines (and boosters now) “keep you out of the hospital” and without them you’re a goner. This kind of shift in the narrative is called “damage control” in the advertising world.

These vaccines are a golden goose for many, in several ways. They have made billionaires out of vaccine company CEOs, enriched the UFT’s Retirement Fund and politicians are power-tripping with the endless mandates they are able to issue due to this endless “emergency.”

Remember Operation Warp Speed?

In the Fall of 2020, I lived and worked one of the most liberal areas in NYC. When the election was called for Biden in November, the whole neighborhood erupted in cheers and people congregated in the park to dance and celebrate his defeat.

During that Fall, some people I knew confided in me that they distrusted Trump’s Operation Warp Speed and vowed not to take “his” vaccine once it became available. Then he got switched out for Biden, Biden said take it and presto! These same people couldn’t wait to get jabbed.

Corporate media likes to plants the seeds for illogical thinking in the minds of the American public, and then lovingly waters these deranged sprouts with steady streams of lies and misrepresentations.

One of the more baffling examples of this phenomenon is the widespread belief (especially among liberals) that those who decline the vaccine, and/or oppose using vaccination status to deny people basic rights, must somehow be Trump supporters.

As I wrote elsewhere on this site (“Lose the Battle, Win the War”), people who have taken to the streets to defend their bodily autonomy and oppose medical apartheid are a racially, culturally and politically diverse group. This group includes vaccinated people. Turns out there are freedom-lovers from every walk of life!

There are people in NYC who are conducting “sit-ins” at restaurants. They refuse to show vaccine cards or passes. Here’s a recent exchange at the Union Cafe Restaurant in NYC:

In this clip, a customer who confronted these anti-mandate activists asks, “Who are you guys, shadow Trump supporters?” (This was the first time I heard the term, “shadow Trump supporter” and I don’t know what it means.)

The woman says, “You took Trump’s vaccine, so it has nothing to do with Trump. Are you a Trump supporter?”

At this, the guy really has no where to go with his argument, so he turns to leave. But before he does, he admonishes, “Find a better use of your time!”

Buddy, I can’t think of a better use of time than to reject and slap down this vaccine mandate and passport crap.

Will he change his tune when he tries to use his digital vaccine passport to go somewhere and it says “No Covid Records Found”? Because that’s what happened to this woman who was flying from England to America, even though she had followed all the covid rules.

These passports are so dangerous but this person doesn’t have a clue. He’s still stuck on the Trump record the media keeps spinning in his head.

If we fully embrace this vaccine passport system that cities such as NYC seem to be doing, we will have NO CONTROL over our ability to move about freely. If the technology fails or the government changes its mind about what it means to be in compliance or what’s “safe”, then what? As it says in the linked article above, there is no obvious appeal process for when things go wrong and there’s a technological “glitch.” And may I remind people that we continue to live under a perpetual state of emergency which allows for government to issue endless mandates without any input from we the people?

Many seem willing to trade their freedom for this system of government-controlled technology which is in place for “our safety.” How is it keeping us safe? The vaccines don’t eradicate the virus, which is doing what RNA respiratory viruses naturally do: mutate, become less lethal and continue to exist. There is absolutely no evidence that passports have any impact on anything other than increasing the uptake of vaccines (otherwise known as medical coercion).

Mandated vaccines are a vicious circle to nowhere except a dystopian reality. In NYC and now elsewhere in America, a vaccine passport “system” dictates who gets to have a job and enter public spaces and who doesn’t. Those who control the system require complete and unquestioning cooperation (otherwise known as obedience) to their vaccine passport system, otherwise life stops working.

The definition of totalitarianism is “a system of government that is centralized, dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state.”

But you keep fixating on Trump, buddy and go right along with the program.

That’s exactly what the government and the media wants.

DeBlasio: Unconstitutional and Unscientific

Mayor Comrade Bill DeBlasio of New York City recently issued yet another vaccine mandate.

Starting today, all children 5 years old and up will be required to show proof of one vaccine dose to gain entrance to indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues. Prior to now, all New Yorkers 12 and older had to show their papers at the door. Acceptable proof is the physical vaccination card, as well as virtual proof on the following apps: NYC Covid Safe App, the Clear Health Pass or the Excelsior Pass.

Also, all employees working in the private sector must be vaccinated with the covid vaccine by December 26. First it was healthcare workers, then it was teachers, then it was city workers, and now everyone needs the shot to have a job in the City of New York.

Meanwhile, President Joe “Vaccines Shouldn’t Be Mandatory” Biden’s federal vaccine mandates are getting shot down all over the country.

On November 30, a federal judge in Louisiana issued a ruling that blocks, nationwide, Biden’s mandate that healthcare workers be vaccinated. The suit, led by Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, was joined by 12 other states: Montana, Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah and West Virginia.

Louisiana federal Judge Terry Doughty wrote: “If the executive branch is allowed to usurp the power of the legislative branch to make laws, two of the three powers conferred by our Constitution would be in the same hands. If human nature and history teach us anything, it is that civil liberties face grave risks when governments proclaim indefinite states of emergency. During a pandemic such as this one, it is even more important to safeguard the separation of powers set forth in our Constitution to avoid erosion of our liberties.”

This means that hospitals funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) don’t have to worry about losing their funding if they aren’t complying with an unconstitutional mandate. Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal contractors was blocked nationwide on December 7. In November, a 5th Circuit Court of Appeals permanently blocked the federal Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) from implementing and enforcing its mandate that workers at businesses with 100 or more employees be vaccinated or tested weekly.

In spite of this, Comrade DeBlasio is ramming his mandates forward. Upon announcement of his latest mandate, DeBlasio said, “We in New York City have decided to use a pre-emptive strike to really do something bold to stop the further growth of covid and the dangers it’s causing to all of us.”

I have a few problems with this statement.

First of all, “we” haven’t decided anything. DeBlasio decided all by himself, without involving the NY State Legislature (which consists of the Senate and Assembly). the City Council or the people of NYC.

Second of all, it is apparent EVERYWHERE that vaccines are not stopping the “growth of covid.” If you read the news you can see this. But the vaccine’s inability to do this is verified by this study published on September 30, which found a “lack of meaningful association between the percentage of population fully vaccinated and new Covid cases.” Countries with 75% of the population vaccinated (such as Iceland and Poland) had far more covid cases than countries with rates as low as 10% (such as Vietnam and South Africa). The same “lack of meaningful association” occurred in heavily vaccinated U.S. counties versus counties with low rates of vaccination. Of the top 5 most vaccinated counties in the USA, the CDC classified 4 of them as experiencing “high transmission” of the virus, while those counties with low rates had low transmission rates as well.

Third of all, the latest Omicron variant is not, by any metric, dangerous. Even its discoverer in South Africa is baffled by the worldwide panic Omicron is causing, as the symptoms of infection are very mild. Every story and report about Omicron verifies this. Furthermore, the vaccines were designed for the ORIGINAL SARS-COv2 virus, not its variants. In the real world this latest variant appears to manifest as a common cold for the vast majority of people.

In fact, Pfizer says that 2 doses of the vaccine may not be sufficient to protect against Omicron, which is why they want you to get three shots. In Israel, you actually need three shots to be considered fully vaccinated; two shots will make your Green Pass invalid.

But that actually is going to work out fine for Comrade DeBlasio and his successor, Eric Adams who is really excited to keep rolling out mandates. You now need vaccine papers to work in NYC. Just imagine needing an endless series of boosters to keep your job. Congratulations to the people of New York City! The Mayor (by way of Big Pharma) now grants you permission to support and feed yourself.

Mayor Comrade DeBlasio would like every New Yorker, vaccinated or not, to test for the virus prior to Thanksgiving. Our covid stats are very low, and that just won’t do. You see, in European countries with high vaccination rates, cases are rising. And that’s enough to lockdown the unvaccinated in Austria and to keep rolling out Vaccine Passports. See what Europeans have to look forward to? Their phones can scold them if their temperatures are “abnormal” (I suppose the phone gets to decide what is normal) or if they aren’t wearing a mask. Fun!

Gibraltar is 100% vaccinated and 40% of the people have had boosters. But Gibraltar has 5 times as many covid cases as it had the same time last year; a 20% infection rate. Our intelligent world leaders don’t ask why that is, they just keep repeating “Get Vaccinated” like automatons. You see, they’ve already declared the vaccines to be safe and effective. It’s “science” to just stick with a simple statement and not use incoming data to adjust your understanding of reality.

NYC numbers are the lowest in NY state, but that’s just because too many people are living their lives and not testing for covid often enough. Comrade DeBlasio would like a repeat of last year, when lines at CityMDs were around the block, full of anxious people wanting to see their families at Thanksgiving.

So he’d like you to go get tested. This way, we can discover more cases and pad that number with lots of false positives. I mean, if nobody is testing we can’t see the numbers rise, can we? So, go get tested and help get those numbers up! Get a jump start on what will surely be rising cases this winter, if Gibraltar is anything to go by!

Maybe then, he can justify making his Key to NYC more intrusive and tyrannical and issue more mandates. I’m sure he likes this made in China digital system and would like to work that technology into his Pass. Then the Key to NYC can become the Key to Life! Doesn’t that sound magical?
